Wenju Liu

Wenju Liu, received my ph. D. degree from Department of Computer Science and Technology, Tsing Hua University in the research direction of artificial intelligence and intelligent control in 1993. The research domains included neural network models and learning algorithms, algorithms of hidden Markov model and partially observable Markov decision process with applications, expert system and path planning for mobile robot etc. He joined China National Construction Machinery Corporation after graduation, working on the research and exploitation of computer applications. He was as a postdoctor at the Department of Computer Science, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology twice in 1995 and 1996 during the period. He awarded second grade price of JiaQiao Lin applied mathematics in 1993 due to the successful applications with neural net learning algorithms in “expert system for evaluating oil shale” and “path planning for mobile robot.” He joined Speech Research Group of National Lab. of Pattern Recognition, Institute of Automation, Chinese Academy of Sciences form 1998 and currently was engaged in continuous speech recognition based upon segmental feature distributions, Chinese speech synthesis, and transformation algorithms for speech data etc. His current research projects include “Noise Robust Speech Recognition Approach Based upon Segmental Features Distribution and Auditory Mechanism” from China National Science Foundation, “Research on GIS/GPS Integrated System with Speech Navigation and its Implementation on PDA” from Beijing Science Foundation, and “Creations for Chinese General Speech Database And Data Transformation Algorithms” from Innovation Engineering of Chinese Academy of Sciences.
